Choir Sings to Teacher Battling Cancer; Story Featured on Ellen

Every Friday on this blog is “Fangirl Friday,” where I post about a person/people who have made a REAL impact on the world and made it a brighter place to live. This week the story is about the young choir from Staten Island, NY who sang to their teacher who was recently diagnosed with cancer.

The young 5th grade choir sang “I’m Gonna Love you Through It,” by Martina McBride to their teacher battling cancer, Adriana Lopez. In the video below, Lopez was overwhelmed with tears as the choir sang to her, and stated,  “It’s not easy, but I will get through it because I have wonderful friends at this school.” Friends and students alike.

Lopez, the entire choir, and Gregg Breinberg, the choir director, we’re all featured on the Ellen DeGeneras show as well after the choir performance received over 1 million views on YouTube. Martina McBride even sang with the choir during the Ellen DeGeneras show.

Breinberg stated that the students were, “so inspired by your fighting spirit” (in reference to Lopez) and that is what inspired them to sing that song. that they decided to sing her the song.

Remember, it’s the little things in life. Everyone has the power to change someone else’s life. Take a look around you at your fellow man and see who YOU can lift up TODAY!

Taylor Swift Inspires All!

Taylor Swift is an inspiration to many people all around the world! From her relatable lyrics, to her altruistic spirit. However, recently Swift inspired others in a non-traditional sense.
A family-owned farm in Frederick, Maryland created the Taylor Swift themed corn maze pictured above. Summer Farm was inspired by Swifts’ saying, “Dare to be Different,” and chose it as the theme to their corn maze this year.

Farm owner Teresa Greenwood stated, “Taylor Swift emanates a fun and positive image for today’s young people…Swift’s generosity toward charitable causes is one thing, but perhaps more importantly, she dares to be different, embracing the power to be all that she can be… and encouraging her fans to do so as well.”

Swift even posted pictures of the corn maze on her Instagram and Facebook pages. Taylor Swift is know for much more than just her singing and entertainment career. She has used her platform to reach out to individuals and organizations in need. It is refreshing to see someone in the public eye use their spotlight for good causes and make a real positive difference in the world. Although this is just a corn maze, it’s a representation of how far and wide Taylor Swift has made an impact.

What is the Answer??

Hello and welcome back to my blog for my first edition of What is the Answer? Wednesday.

Yesterday I asked you a riddle, shown below, and today I will reveal the answer.

riddle 1

The answer is….drum-roll please…. (listed at the bottom of the page)

I hope you enjoyed that one! Comment below if you got it correct! New riddle/joke coming next Tuesday!!

As for the second part of my Wednesday blogs, I also write about What is the Answer to a various topic happening in the world.

Today the topic is World Hunger. What is the answer to ending world hunger? I personally think that it is educating everyone on the relevancy and frequency of those who go hungry, and everyone doing their part to help their fellow man, whatever that means for you. Whether that is donating to your local food bank, cooking a meal for a friend in need, donating to a World Hunger website, etc. It is shocking to know that “16.7 million American children – nearly one in four – live in households that do not have access to enough nutritious food to lead healthy, active lives.” End Hunger

Globally, 1 in 9 people, or 795 MILLION people do not have enough food to lead a healthy, active lifestyle. World Food Programme. These statistics are shocking! More than likely YOU know someone who is effected by hunger.

Like I said earlier, I think the answer to this tragedy is education…educating everyone about the prevalence of this issue, and ways to help. Therefore, there are several links listed below with information, and great organizations that are helping this cause. However, they can not do it alone! Do your part ❤
